Martin O'Neill on TalkSport just now
Said if the right opportunity came up, he might fancy another management job.

Interesting timing 🤔

I'd be happy with that.

I like Martin O'Neill.

Martin O'Neill is GOOD.

He’s a good bloke. But he’s well past his sell by date.

Re: Martin O'Neill on TalkSport just now
I reckon he'd be a good short term fix.

Big Jethro Tull fan as well, which is another plus

No way, we don't need another dinosaur of the Moyes era. He does well, you know he is kept on for 5 years and then it'll be hard to get rid of him.

Let's try and attract a modern day manager who will improve us and take us forward into the future.

I find it a bit tragic we'd even consider him.

I think you could chuck any name in the hat now and I'd considering them a better appointment than Moyes.

Get him in till the end of the season

Fucking he’ll. I know we’re desperate but….
Yeah I’d take him short term over Moyes. We are that desperate

Re: Martin O'Neill on TalkSport just now
He had his chance to take over from Grant but didn't Sulli fuck it up by leaking it to the press, might be wrong?

He was decent in his day but that's a long time ago.

Re: Martin O'Neill on TalkSport just now
Yeah, I feel like his time has passed. I've no doubt he could come in put a rocket under some of the players, make a couple of changes and get more out of the squad short term, but he's no sort of answer.

We are in a tricky spot (AGAIN) where we need a short term fix with that sort of character, but actually long term it's more harmful than good because we need a forward thinking progressive younger manager if we are to achieve the club's potential long term.

Dyche is a band aid for Everton. he might well keep them up and put some fight back in the dog, but they aren't going to progress much under him.

However, I don't know what sort of chance any respectable manager really has under our current ownership.

Yup, I believe he was on his way, or close and it was Brady in fact who did or said something that made him change his mind.

Yet another example of our ownership holding us back.
In fact she's been bloody quiet of late. Not moaning about it but it's interesting seen as she couldn't stop singing to the media when it came to West Ham a few years ago. Lucky for us I guess she's more interested in making faces in the background on the Apprentice these days.

Might as well put Harry Redknapp in until the end of the season if this is the type of manager were considering.

Was linked with Leeds a few weeks ago funnily enough.

And yes I would take Harry over Moyes right now on a short term gig.

I'm not sure he'd be appreciated by SOME of our players in particular.

I would like to see Michael Carrick come in but doubt he would want to move south at the moment and could well get promotion with Middlesborough.
Its no good bringing in an impact manager who will win a couple early on then struggle and land us back at square one.
The longer it goes on the more desperate it becomes and the more likely we are to see the likes of Big Sam in the frame.

70 year old Martin O'Neill's most recent club jobs:

Sunderland 2011-2013
Sacked in March 2013 with the club 1 point above the relegation zone.

Nottingham Forest 2019
Sacked after 5 months after Forest finished 9th.

I was gutted 10 years ago when it looked like he was replacing Avram and it fell through.

I don’t think we would have gone down that season if he had come.

Probably a bit too late in his career now.
